The Production team typically works a remote work schedule with occasional days in office. This position will be full-time, 40 hours/week typically Monday – Friday day-time shifts.

    The Book Design and Production Specialist evaluates and adjusts interior art for optimal reproduction in our print and electronic products and for our publishing platform, Fulcrum. This position also designs original front covers and does full-cover layouts for a portion of our list. The Book Design and Production Specialist oversees the text design template program and designs new interior text design templates, designs sample pages for unique interior text designs, and reviews first-proof text PDFs from the typesetter. The University of Michigan Press publishes approximately 100 book-length projects per year across a variety of disciplines.
